Chewy Caramel Brownies

CHEWY CARAMEL BROWNIES

Ingredients:

2-packages Caramels (about 100)
1⅓-cups Evaporated Milk
1½-cups Butter
2-Boxes German Chocolate Cake Mix
1-cup Chopped Pecans
1-cup Chopped Walnuts
24-ounces Milk Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

Melt two packages of caramels with ⅔ cup of evaporated milk in microwave or double boiler.

Mix two boxes of German Chocolate Cake Mix with 1½ cups of melted butter, ⅔ cups of evaporated milk, 1 cup of pecans and 1 cup of walnuts.

Stir cake mixture until moistened. This cake mixture will be very thick. Press ½ of mixture in a greased 9x13 pan. Bake for six minutes at 350°. Remove from oven and sprinkle with 24 ounces of milk chocolate chips and pour caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Press remaining cake mix batter between hands and lay on top of caramel.

Place pan in oven and bake for additional 18 minutes then remove from oven, cool 10 minutes, cut & serve.

Yields about 25 Chewy Carmel Brownies

Note: Add another 1/2-cup of chopped pecans and top these brownie with chopped pecans upon taking out of the oven. I have also added the marshmallow cream to this recipe and it is to die for, but very rich.
